Foggy day offshore 2/23

I finally made back offshore after almost 3 months off. I am limited to fishing weekends and nice ones have been very few lately. My buddy went last weekend and did well in 120-130 so that was kind of the plan. The fog changed that. It was not the worst but enough to keep me on edge for most of the ride. Very little conversation while riding. We stopped in 90 feet to try our luck and got our limit at this one spot. No show on the bottom, we just jugged the number and anchored up. Goes to show just because the machine doesn't show much doesn't mean they are not there. Biggest fish was 10 pounds or so. We moved to a nearby ledge to try for snapper and caught a few then headed for the house. Back at the dock by noon. Best fish of the day was a gag that was pushing 12-15 pounds. Too bad he had to go back in. Live bait worked the best today. it was great to be back out there. Hope we get more sun next time.
