Hey Tim, thanks for the welcome but my stories aren't so good. The reason I've really not been around much is that last April I'd been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease as well as having a fairly powerful and debilitating stroke. Only fairly recently have I been able to walk some with a walker or cane. My speech is fairly significantly affected as well. For several months I was recovering in a nursing home where they had stroke patient rehab. So, you see, I really could not take part in much.

I've only recently started with Facebook and now here. We'll see. As far as photography goes, I'm spending more and more time doing macro or studio work where I don't have to move around much. They retired me at work, so I have to find something to do. I've invested in a fairly complete set of studio lighting and gear. I'm hoping to find a small storefront in one of the local artsy districts where I can set up a maybe two or three studio sets and small gallery. I'd like to specialize in baby pics as well as Senior pics.

If I have more than one set, I'd like to have one setup to rent to other photographers and would include some basic lighting, modifiers, backdrops, etc. They could even tell clients that they were partners. Maybe set up some kind of club. :wink

It's all just something to help me think positively.

    Take care, my friend.

My goodness you've had quite a year. Was hoping maybe you'd been off on a photo shoot in exotic places
and got yourself kidnapped by lovely dark haired Tahitian ladies who abused you mercilessly...:grin

I visit here more often than I post and always enjoy your photos. You're the go-to-guy with questions, problems and encouragement for us not so talented picture takers. :) Good job on the hard work it took to come back...Wish you well with your future plans!!!

Wow, that is quite the story. Glad to hear progress is being made in your recovery. Hopefully your biggest challenges are behind you now.

Hopefully. Most of this is caused by uncontrolled diabetes which I've had all my life. It's just been the last year or so I've not been able to control it. Last week I was back in the hospital with full renal failure. My blood pressure fell to 48/30 before we got it turned around. I've taken on diabetes as my number one hobby so maybe with diligence progress will occur. If not, I've got a place. :)

    Craig,
i'm sorry that i had forgotten about your health issues...
i'd just kind of assumed you were out on a walk about capturing images....
you've been rode hard and put up wet and you're still kicking...
glad to hear it...God is looking out for you, and on the selfish side, we still get to have you around helping all of out...
