Bait (Shrimp) rigged on a bottom rig (1 oz. weight). Have not been able to get them to take Artificial yet. Last year I did pretty good with 27m Mirrodine after they started moving good.
Wife landed one late afternoon...11 pounds 7 Ounces...SLAB and biggest I have ever seen. We have several over 6 pounds this season. I'll put a few more pics up tomorrow.
Side Note - When you step on the Release Arm for your Trolling motor, make certain that a fishing pole in the holder is not too close or it might snag the handle and yank your pole out sending it in the water. Yes, I jumped in head first to save it first thing this morning before we warmed up to 50 degrees. Saved the pole and reel and lost my cell phone...I don't like cell phones anyway
Those shore are some nice fish thanks for posting... I was in the mullet lake area looking for shad this weekend no luck, I know puzzle lake is close is it fishable by land?

Only one to report today but it was on Top Water. Caught 7 yesterday on Top Water (Poppers) actually, I'll tell everyone I was kinda old schooling it with my Hula Popper and they were just crushing it. The Stripers seem to have slowed in the South (Puzzle Area) of the St John's. Good news for Mullet Lake and Lemon Bluff area followed closely by the West/North of Lake Monroe (HiBanks) area at the Wekiva Split...they are on their way! The Shad are still running but have SLOWED tremendously so the Large Mouth Bass Schoolies should start in the next few weeks or so.
Almost. It is a very short ride up to where I see a lot of Fly Fishing Shad fisherman. They are mostly walking along the bank. None of this is actually "In" Puzzle Lake, it is closer, just south of the Econ River Turn.

we landed 2 Sunshine Bass that weighed in at 12 Pounds, day before yesterday. Except for the picture of the state record @ 16 Pounds I have never seen Sunshine Bass as big as we have seen this year. I could see the state record falling this year or next.
I really need to try to catch some of these Sunshine Bass again. My dad took me when I was a kid to lk Apopka 30 years ago when they first started stocking them. We had some of our best memories made catching these guys. We fished deep around the springs using shrimp also.
Slowing down but managed a nice one today. No Top Water action while I was there. Dinner will be served....nice Bass and Channel Catfish. My wife likes'em cut in to Fish Stix shape, so fish stix shape we have. Grease ought to be at temp by about 4pm.
On them again today. Little bit North of ECON. Total of 10 and two in the 6 pound range.
Side Note - Met a member of the forums today out on the water...Turkey hunting guy out of O'Town. We were talking a bit and Florida Sportsman Forums came up. Lot of water in Florida and we meet at on 12' hole in the middle of nowhere.
How often do you strike up a conversation with some random person asking about what you're fishing for and how you're catching them? I mean these are secrets of the trade, right?
I enjoyed talking this afternoon, have to admit I was pretty impressed by you guys and was shocked to hear you mention Dawsonville like it was no big deal! Hope we cross paths again soon.
