All my Nikon DSLR's are refurbished. D200 and D7100. Cameta Camera. Never had any issues with them. One Olympus point and shoot. Also no issues.

Flash got this one right, of course. The only thing to add is what is the worry? Refurbs come with a warranty.

To me it's a no brainer. They're anything from open box to redone. Chances are they've been checked out by a technician much closer than a new one coming off the line. I'll take a refurb any day over new.

Just make sure you are aware of the terms of warranty. I have a 70-300 VR refurb and I think the warranty period was only 6 months. Not a big deal to me but if it was a 70-200 VR I probably would look into third party warranty. I know a guy looking at a 1000 repair cost on his Canon 70-200 is II which was not a refurb but is a few months out of warranty. Ouch.
