Guilty again. How many times can they try someone. I guess Italy is going for best out of seven.

Do we have to send her back? How does that work?

We have three degree of judgement.
Assise (1st grade), appeal (2nd grade) and cassazione (3rd).
This process is an appeal one (2nd) ordered by cassazione court to re-evaluate the first appeal (also 2nd), avoided for procedural issues.
The next step, if they appeal (I have no doubt) is cassazione (3rd and last).

About our courts efficiency and real capacity to make justice I don't say nothing (we haven't Miranda, in any time my words could be used against me :grin).

No, she can wait free the cassazione sentence.

Thanks for the quick explanation of the Italian court system. Miranda informs you that your words can be used against you. It doesn't protect you from their use.

Is her trial a big deal over there? It's a big story here.

As usual in these cases media (and public opinion) is splitted in two.
In my opinion (but I never deeply gave attention to this case) they (remember, 3 people are accused and one has, more or less, confessed) are guilty.
But isn't this the point IMHO.
The point is that poor Meredith was murdered in 2007 and now, in 2014, we haven't a definitive sentence.
So, if Amanda and Raffaele are guilty are 7 years (and we probably we have to wait more than three years to have a final cassazione sentence) that they are free with a murdering responsability.
In the other hand, if they are non guilty, are 7 years that their lifes is almost a hell.
This is the main problem of the italian justice.

Last times I have been in States I felt better than at home.
But last time was 10 years ago, I have to refresh my perspective.
So are you suggesting me that can't be a good idea looking for US relocation ?

Oh, this is a worldwide issue.
Here we have squadrons of hookers, domestics and exotics (mainly from Brasil, Argentina, Venezuela, Colombia, etc. but also a lot from US, UK, etc.) :grin.

BTW, what's about spinning from Shout Beach (Lummus park area) shore ?
    Is it allowed ?
Some chance of hooking something (except italian hokeers of course, for these I could organize myself here :grin) ?

In any case the "price" is good, I can decide for deal (ID pictures are ok or are you thinking at something different ?).
About lasagna no problem, give me the access to your kitchen when I come (if you've got a kitchen in your offshore boat it's better, I'm so much inspired surrounded by the deep blue :grin).

So, if double jeopardy doesn't fly in the US, will the US allow extradition in this case?

Everybody likes the lasagna (in any case the right name is lasagnE, plural. LasagnA is the singular and is the word for a single piece of pasta, only one layer, of lasagne :wink).

P.S. I'm collecting pictures for my green card :grin.

Between US and Italy there is an extradition agreement (except some particular cases, e.g. military; someone could remember the shame of Cermis accident, a dark page for the US military history).
So, if Amanda will sentenced during cassazione judgement she should be extradited to Italy for detention.

If Amanda Knox is indeed guilty of murder then she should return to Italy to pay for her crime. The issue arises that there is some question (from American standards) about the evidence.

However, the murder was committed in Italy so Italian law applies.

I would hope that the American and Italian politicians don't let this one incident drive a wedge between the 2 countries.

Well, I can learn fastly Spanish (Italian and Spanish are pretty similar) but for age could be a problem (the "old hog style" ears and nose hairs can betray me).
And also my handsomeness could betray me :grin...
