well i had the f225's, 2003 and got 10 years and nearly 4000 hours out of them. we repowered the venture with the f300's wasn't even a question. the motors are incredible. I am running 1000 rpm less for the same speeds and seeing almost a 20% fuel savings...
I had tuppens and palm beach yacht center in boynton do the work for me. top shelf.
I couldn't be happier. hope that helps.

Tuppens Marine will take great care of you. If you want the 300s though, get with them as soon as possible. Last news was that the F300s were 4 month lead times or more

If they are in good shape, with 550 hours, you should be able to get $10k a piece for the 250's. Those motors are hard to find used with low hours.

When you get the 300's, you need to use them more, 200 hr per year minimum :)

Boat was in Montauk for 4 years and did not run it far to fish, Most of it was drift fishing so the motors never got a lot of hours and it is a short season. Now its in Fla. but still only gets used when i can get away, with three sons playing football and lacrosse there is never time. Want to spend more time in the Abacos so i decided to upgrade the motors.

good call. by the way, we spend a ton of time in the abacos and one of the best certified yamaha mechanics in the world, seriously, is in hopetown. the guy is famous and has actually repowered several boats over there himself with the f300's. just a fyi good to know thing for any yamaha people who go to the abacos.

Pete you have to go with an authorized yammie guy, so I would check who that is in your area. Tuppens is generally considered among the very best.

Pete - call Steve at Tuppen's. They'll come and drag your boat and bring it back when finished if you don't want to bring it down yourself.

So did you book your trip to GTC?

Going to a superbowl party tomorrow with the group we tend to travel with (we all have kids who play sports together) So i am going to work out dates that are good for everybody. Saw an 8 bedroom house for rent anybody know anything about it? Paul enjoy your trips over to the "otherside" while the kids are young, they get older and trying to plan a "family" vacation is like herding cats.
