X2. What a bunch of crap hopefully they don't do what they have in the gulf , which I believe is a couple fish limit per person.
Like we need more limits the ocean has been a ghost town since they closed snapper.

I went to the meeting last night and there was nothing really on topic for recreational this time. Mainly just commercial topics; Sea Bass Pot closure during the winter due to Right Whale migration, Triggerfish ACLs and management measures for comm, King and Spanish Mackerel permit proposals for splitting the Gulf/Atlantic sectors and establishing ACLs or ABCs for species that do not have one right now). Triggerfish was being discussed in regards to the annual ACLs and management measures for commercial. I commented that we should increase the ABC/ACL for Trigger, establish split seasons for them to coincide with Beeliner season (Jan and July openings) and establish a trip limit of 500 or 1000lbs for comm to help extend the season for the whole year. Last year Triggerfish closed in early July for comm.

The council needs input on topics that come up and they are looking for ideas on how to better manage the fisheries in the South Atlantic. Shoot the council members an email on suggestions like Red Snapper seasons for recreational or other ideas on things that you want to see done in the South Atlantic with this fishery. The SAFMC is doing something new this year where they want your input at meetings they are hosting around the region called "Port Meetings". Show up to the port meeting and submit your comments and opinions there
