Plenty of SNOOK in bayport area

I know a lot of people have been talking about the cold weather killing the snook in our area. I can not speak to Homasassa or Crystal River but I went gigging last night in bayport and seen lots of snook. The size was rangeing from small snooklets to three foot monsters. None of the snook seemed lathargic at all. Hope this is a good indication for the big bend fishery as a whole.

So you're reporting them as being frisky and stuff right? I went out 2 weeks ago and the only dead fish I saw were a few jacks, no snook. Though I did some some MONSTER snook just chilling in the weeki wachee river that day. I hope to see more posts here from our area. We're just in the middle between the big bend and West Central area.

Did you see the snook more in the river or outside west of the pier?

MOstly in the Mud river
