LBD: little buck down

Shot this little guy on one of the WMA's. He was tending a doe. Smoked him at 130 yds free handed. Which is impressive for me cause I missed a giant last year at 30 yds TWICE!!!
best part about it was my 74 year old grandpa was hunting with me and he was there for the recovery. That is something I will never forget.

Cherish being able to hunt with your grandpa! Tagging a buck is just a bonus. I miss not being able to hunt with my grandpa anymore!

He was DRT but I couldn't see him cause he was laying in a laurel bush. We walked down there together and looked and found nothing. I ran back to the stand climbed back up and realized we were about 50 yards from the tree i mentally marked. I flagged my grandaddy over to stand in line. I walked to him and we walked straight back to where he laid.

I'm so glad it wasn't an evening hunt. I doubt i would have found him until daylight.

That was one of the longest drags i have ever made.

I'd be happy with that deer any day...........Congrats! Way cool to share it with your Granddad. Cherish those times together. I have great memories of days outdoors with my Grandfather.
