From what I've seen the couple of times I watched it. I would say yes, it's about as real as wrestling. For entertainment purposes only: no real ducks were harmed in this broadcast.

I heard Thom Beers speak at a conference a few years back.

He remarked that shooting 300 hours of something 'real' is more than enough to tell any story that you want.

I have tried on a couple of occasions to watch it,,, it is just terrible and so contrived. I just cannot figure out the attraction. I know some will say it is because of the values they represent but it is so fake I cannot get past it to see any of them.

TV is about entertainment first. If it's not entertaining, no one will watch. Most of these "reality" tv shows have writers. Why does a show need writers if it's "reality" show?

The three episodes that were to be dominated by Conservation theme,traditional duck hunter enviro outrage,specific issue identification and "Ducks Unlimited" spot and sporting arms review relative to black on black gun crime was soundly cancelled.
All this latest stuff but a Diversion.
