Got a small window of opportunity after work today around 5 PM on the out going tide to fish for 45 minutes and it paid off. Fished dead shrimp on the bottom on .5oz egg sinkers and got tiny crokers, one eel, and 6-7 pound black drum (Cohen's biggest to date). Real small bite and was very suprised when I set the hook, felt some shoulders, and gave it to little man. Little man has the pump and wind tecnique down and put a hurt on the fish. When the fish first came up it suprised the heck out of me (thought we had a redfish) and proceeded to make a nice litte run out in the current and give the kid a nice workout. I was fishing just north of red marker 10, north of Doctors Lake, and in 13 foot of water. I missed one more solid hook set and think it was another. I hope this helps out some dads who get time off to fish with there kids this New Years day. I also have confirmed reports of drum north of the Buckman as well.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! :crowd
