the only good dove field is a baited dove field, legally baited that is...unless you find a roost in a public woods

actually the illegally baited fields are the best.

I shot next to a grove in Homestead that was baited. I was outside out of sight and could not see what was going on in there. I shot my limit and was helping my son pick some shots to finish up his limit. When 4 FWC trucks showed up they sorrounded the grove and moved in arresting everyone in their about 12 guys. One of the officers told me to stop shooting because the grove was baited. Needless to say we got the hec out of their. I always wondered what fine those guys received.

I guess I could have been written up?? Not sure.

went to a dove shoot on a plantation that spent a lot of time and money each year on planting the perfect ''legal'' dove field.......after sitting that afternoon without seeing a dove, but listening to constant shooting 1 mile away , i asked about it....was told ''oh, that's the ******** plantation and that's where all the plutocrats shoot ....you figure it out.

    saltysenior you got that right.

Went to a dove shoot in yeehaw a long time ago. To one of the BIG Ranches. Senators, Congressmen, big Cattlemen, tons of big name people. We shot plenty of birds and yes the field was baited.

Unless they had figured out a way to get crack corn to grow it was baited.

it should be legal to bait a dove field as long as everyone obeys the limits...

Funny how these laws are enforced and different depending on where you are at. In my 30 years of hunting private land we have caught about 10 people poaching/trespassing/with guns and never ever was any of them convicted of a crime. In fact once my buddy, who is a LEO, caught 2 guys on our Alabama lease and he took their guns and drivers lic. To the local sheriff and the sheriff wanted to prosecute him for stealing their guns. I would never do these things but no one is going to jail for a first offense. Except maybe in south Florida.

You get busted on mormon land you will go to jail .

They came in helicopters once several years ago in a ”hot” orange grove to ”catch” us. The landowner came over, told the man to hold on a minute, made a phone call, and the helicopters and leos departed soon thereafter. The next weekend, the plutocrats were right alongside us banging away. The only thing they cared about was why they weren't on the first hunt. Money and power talk.
