Interested in hunting

Hey guys,
I enjoy shooting targets so I figured why not try the real thing.I recently moved to Homestead florida. What kind of hunting is there in the area for a beginner? I did some research on wma's in the area and there was only one to be found on US1 en route to key largo, does anyone hunt that area? I do a quite a but of fishing near the airbase in homestead and always hear gunshots, is that mostly private land people hunt on in that area?
Any info/input would be great

I don't know anything about that area or I'd help you. I do know that small game season is coming up and already upon us and that's the best way to get your start. There's fewer people in the woods and you can move around a bit more. You also have more action if you go after something like squirrels. You'll just need to figure out how to cook the dang things. And, of course, it's always best if you have someone to go with who knows what they're doing.

BTW - You'll also need your hunter safety course before you can buy a license. Not only is it mandatory but you'll get a lot of good info beyond the gun safety part of it.

Probally hearing dove hunting going on down there in homestead ,rock glades good place for snakes .

I soak them in scrambled egg, then roll them around in seasoned flour (flour + salt & pepper). Fry in corn oil. Very similar to chicken fried steak. They actually taste ok, not ribeye of course, but not bad.

Cool, I'm gonna make some effort to get into it. I'm a chef so I don't think il have a problem in coming up with ways to prepare. Thanks for the help
