Fellow Forum Members,
I just wanted to take the time to thank each of you for the wonderful year that I have had... with many nice fish caught - largely in part of the advice and insights provided by reading the forums posts from everyone. I can't name everyone, but know that I appreciate everyone's input greatly. In keeping with the holiday spirit...
Congrats to Anclote Key - who apparently landed his first snook a couple days ago. I remember the forum advice given to him about taking off the store bought wire leader and going light with his tackle. Everyone has given him sound advice, and its been exciting to follow his posts as he learns about fishing the area.
To Mutt, Snookmeister, BassinAssasin, SecretSpot (and a true host of others) - thank you for the tips and insight that have helped me land snook, trout and other inshore species. Most are caught on artificials, and my now go-to lure is a skitterwalk in bone color.
Also - To Bob Harbison, ReelLucky, SnapperSlapper (and more) - I've had cobia, grouper, snapper, and enough other offshore fish to always have something in my freezer.
Finally - although I never met the man, we on the forum lost a true gentleman with the passing of Anthony. I truly enjoyed his posts, and wish I had had the opportunity to fish with him. I know we will all miss him greatly.
I'm not able to recognize everyone, but hope all of you on the forum have a truly wonderful and safe Christmas and holiday season. Keep up the posts - they are invaluable to someone who wants to learn more about the art of fishing. The Tampa area is loaded with fishing opportunities, and I learn something new on the forum each and every day - and take your sound advice and put it to good use on the water.
Stay safe, Happy Holidays, and catch lots of fish! 2014 is going to be an AWESOME year!
