Quick Tampa Bay Report 12/21

Been busy, so a while since I have posted, but just thought I would add a quick report on the fishing lately from my perspective.

If you are waiting on those winter big trout, sheepies and such...you may have to wait just a little longer. Yes there are some around, but boy has the snook bite remained strong. Good moving water and we have been getting them throughout the bay from the backwaters to the bayside flats, up to 275 area!






The reds are still pretty strong too, a touch smaller than when we had big schools cruising, but good ones nonetheless! With the negative tides they are in pretty skinny water so be slow, and look closely.

My first thought: Holy Jesus! I think I actually said it out loud. I'm headed down this weekend for my semi annual visit to the parents/ fishing trip and am praying to find some beauties like those. Congrats.

Where have you guys been finding bait? Still on the flats anywhere or just the skyway?

At a bait and tackle shop It isn't on the flats anymore in the bay. Not sure about the skyway as of late, as I fish out of the mid bay so don't run down there.
