Go to Burger King in Crystal River on Hwy 19.
Stopped in to get a cup of coffee, haven't darkened the door of Burger King since I can't remember when. Over by the drink station, tucked into the corner was a tiny Christmas tree decorated with paper ornaments. Each ornament had the Christmas wish list of a child in foster care.
There were a lot of names left just Tuesday when I dropped off the gifts for the two children whose names we chose. Not an endorsement of Burger King or the foster parent group sponsoring the gift drive...just some food for thought,
if you have a little extra dough this Christmas and are wondering where to 'invest' it.
Merry Christmas to all, wishing you a warm fire, the scent of cinnamon and spice in the air, loving arms of family, laughter of friends...the blessings and promise of the season. And for those foolish pescadors willing to forsake all the above in search of an often elusive prey...wishing
you cold winds, high seas and slack lines...kidding, kidding (just jealous)

He doesn't talk about it, but Capt. Ed does something like that every year. Good folks, y'all.

There were only 5 names left on the tree and we took 4 of them. The lady standing next to us was pretty inquisitive about what we were doing so I explained it to her and I believe she was going to get the last card off the tree.
We just finished the shopping part and now getting everything ready to return it to burger king.
Awesome Captain Ed! So generous. What a great experience for your children. Bet they had a fun time picking out presents for other kids.
Ours are grown and gone, the first grandchild won't put in his/her appearance until summer and I really miss Christmas mornings with beaming little faces gathered around the tree. This way, even though we cannot see the faces of these kids light up on Christmas morning, we can remember the glow.
Toys for Tots is a good thing too, though the last pick up on the boxes was today..
