Lobsta Roll

Holy Crap!! I have never had one before, but I am in Boston and when in Rome........

Now, I don't know if all lobsta rolls are as good as the one I had tonight, but I sure intend to find out if they are. I swear there was either one really XXL lobster in there or two normal size ones. It was covered with melted butter and served on a roll. Nice Guinness to wash it down. Best $25 sandwich I ever had and worth every penny

We rented a house in Camden Maine a few years back...... Found a little joint on main street that had the best lobster rolls and egg sandwiches

They were friggen amazing.... We went back every morning for 10 days.....

I ate what ever was on there. I love Fl lobster, but main lobster is just as good and no better place to have it than NE. I am gald I am leaving tomorrow, because I would go broke eating these things.

Were they still doing the Shakesphere thing at the bandshell by the water?
It's been a few years since I've been to Camden.
I was in Newport last week, (blowboat regatta) passed on the lobster rolls, to much bread. Just steam it up and put it in one of those paper bowls with butter and a pile of napkins.

Really nice town.... It was April so a bit cold out - no bandshell action going on - we rented a nice house on the water with a deck over looking the harbor....

I see our local Sweetbay is now carrying New England Style Hot Dog Buns. I had been looking for over twenty years for these. IMHO that's what makes the Lobster Roll, or crab roll, or shrimp roll. We've been stocking up and freezing them just in case they stop making them.

My folks have a house on an island in Portland Harbor, when you arrive you give the ferryman your lobster order and shortly a box of lobsters is left on your doorstep...Maine-iacs knows lobsta.

And red hotdogs....

Sounds good. Went to a sushi joint in Vero Beach for supper last night. Almost got their lobster roll. Now I wish I did. I wonder if they are open for breakfast?

Really, that's a good lobster roll? I had one when they had a stand at Tropicana Field and it was a tasty $3 snack--that they charged $10 for.

That wasn't the New York Yacht Club cruise, was it? I sailed in that many years ago and the last stop is/was Camden Maine. Great time. Now might be the time to start a poll. Fla. lobster vs. Maine lobster. To me, Main lobster has it all the way. I'm glad so many of you guys enjoyed it too.

They're not hard to make and if you hit the Publix bakery, they have unsliced hotdog buns you can top-split and fry in butter. Not exactly the same but not a bad 2nd. You can also use shrimp instead of lobster.

There's a guy @ john's pass that makes New England lobster rolls (pretty darn good imo), he gets the lobster and the rolls from New England.

A sushi lobster roll is not even the same concept. But they are good.

If you ever make it down to Boca, go to Bluefin at Congress and Yamato and get their Lobster Bomb. 24 bucks but worth every nickel.

We were in Newport as guests to practice abord "Ranger" for the Nantucket Bucket. The races were canceled due to Irene. They did one 20 mile race instead of 4 days of 10 mile races. We were aboard as sandbags, no way we could crew with the sailers who were in charge. It does seem as though Brad Butterworth saw potential in my son. He was allowed to helm and after a few pointers from Brad had her heeled over and screaming. Amazing that a boat that big can sail faster than the wind.

In the first photo Brad is giving instructions on how to make the bow lay down to lenghten the water line and reduce drag. In the second photo the results can be seen by the bubble wake line and the smile on my sons face.

This is my first try at pics, is that as big as they get? Or is there some way I can make them easier to see?
