8-31 Jupiter-Decent day

Hi everyone,

I moved to SoFlo a year ago from San Diego so I'm attempting to get this Florida fishing dialed in and having mixed results. San Diego seemed much more simple, although it was probably because there weren't as many species that were targeted as there are here. Anyways, long time reader, first time posting. Since there haven't been many reports of running well offshore I'm hoping this would help a few.

Loaded up on sardines yesterday evening off the church, also a few runners. Hit the inlet around 6 and we headed ESE to about 1000' stopping at a few decent looking weed lines with some bait holding but couldn't get anyone to come up and play. Didn't find any rummage or debris from Irene (prob too late).

Decided to head back in to 180' ish and set up a drift. Livies on top and dead dines on the bottom. Caught and released 1 sail shortly after setting up. Managed to score two decent sized blackfins that will make for a great dinner and had 2 Almaco Jacks that I heard are good if done correctly (???). Unfortunately no dolphin (I like the term Dorado better) but still a fun day on the water.
