Home Ten Thousand Islands General Fishing & The Outdoors

Would it be worth it?

Hi,

we are planning our annual fishing trip and are trying to go to the 10.000 islands area.
The only thing is that the rental boat(s) are not allowed any further than 3 miles offshore, we are afraid this will affect our fishing too much.

We normally fish for sharks, tarpon, barracuda and Goliath grouper but we enjoy light tackle for jacks etc. as well.
It seems strange that in the Keys the boats are allowed 25 miles offshore and only 3 mile shere.

The big question is if we stand a decent chance of catching te species listed above or not.
If not we'll probably try the Keys again but we'd prefer something different in a nicer area.
