NFL players are employees. The NFL, through the use of their political power, has gotten various state legislatures to exempt them them for workers comp laws that require every other business to provide coverage for their employees. Had the owners been required to carry workers comp on players, this would not be an issue, legally or morally.
Money talks in government.
Interesting point, but football is a "different" type business. Most people don't earn their $$ by physically battering other people. Wonder how Workman's Comp is treated in the stock car or hockey "industry(ies)"?
And....again, one has to take some personal responsibility for what they choose to endeavor in.

Every company has the responsibility to take care of their empolees.....not be negligent.
Show me where the NFL has been negligent.
Most work related injuries are not a result of employer negligence, nevertheless the state requires that the employee have medical bills and lost wages paid by the employer.
Its a typical moragn and morgan shakedown lawsuit, player suing because some attorney told them they could walk away with a lot of jack. The NFL will beat this down like a yard dawg and then come out with a cotract that says.............If you play in the NFL, your widdle head may get jiggled around a bit,you make suffer life threatening injury you **** so consider this before you start getting OVERPAID FOR PLAYING A KIDS GAME. When are we going to start taking personnel responsibility for our actions?
