You flat-landers need a break. Here is a collection of some of my favorite waterfall footage from North Georgia. Best viewed in "HD " and full screen mode. Sure have met a lot of Floridians up here hiking this fall.

This was like going home! "I growed up up thar lookin' at Blood Mountain, Brasstown Bald, the Coosa Bald and Slaughter Mountains ever day"! And, I go back several times every year!

Photography of the waterfalls was outstanding! In the Maya Mountains of the Cayo District, Belize C.A., you will see the exact same topography and waterfalls! I made a forest inventory and put together a protective forest/wildlife management plan for the Thousand Foot Falls area in the Maya Mountains, and was amazed at how closely it resembled my home where these photos were taken! Perhaps you should visit the Maya Mountains in Belize and put together a documentary of these falls to go with the Georgia falls!

Woodsrunner, that is very interesting. You would probably find the topography very interesting over on Grandfather Mountain in GA.

Mark, good work as always. My suggestion is you spring for a motorized slider. You don't need a lot but a 24" or a 30" would add a lot to your work and take you to the next step. Yes, I know they are sort of expensive.

WaterEngineer, already have a DIY Igus motorized slider. You are right, they do add a lot to the production value. Problem is the weight and setup time. Mine is 8lbs. and requires a separate heavy duty tripod which is fine if you are not going far from your vehicle. Otherwise a pain to carry long distances.

Nice gear and videos. I have been contemplating a transition for camcorder to something like the Panasonic GH3 which shoots video. However, issues with CMOS imager cameras that don't have global shutters concerns me.

I agree the shutter is at issue with said cameras. FYI - Tom Lowe recently moved to a a pair of Red Epics.

Wow, a small world indeed. I went to HS in Carnesville. Lived in "Gumlog" on Lake Hartwell between Lavonia and Toccoa. I miss the ease of a leaf peeping excursion which could cover parts of NC, SC and GA in an easy afternoon.

two of my brothers live their too...
one of them has been living there for around 35+ years...
