Samsung Tablet Help

century7century7 Posts: 2,410 Captain
Hoping you guys can help me as I tried searching the web and just got overwhelmed. Hoping Tater will come along and be able to offer some tech help. I had a Google Nexus 7 and a few months ago dropped it and cracked the screen beyond repair. Fast forward and I was in the store today and they had the Galaxy 7.0 on sale for $150 so I decided to get it and try it out. I knew this would have bloat ware from Samsung loaded but did not realize it would have so much that I can not remove easily. I did some searching and it can be removed but it looks like I need to root the device and install a new copy etc etc. I am so lost and can figure out if this is difficult to do and do I need to buy software? Anyhelp you can provide if you have done this before would be most appreciated.
It works 60% of the time all the time......

Access to any teenage or college age kids in your family? Turn the project over to them and slide them a $20

This thread is about the Galaxy S4 phone but should apply to the Tab 7.0 as well.

android forums or xda developers forum. they will have the steps and all the details you need to root the device.

Ive done it with a few tabs and a bunch of phones, its worth it most cases. Most of the time its a couple of downloads, booting into your devices recovery, making a backup, then flashing(installing) the files needed to root, then a reboot or two.

At that point you should be able to remove the bloat. Take the advice of the guys in the forum, use titanium backup if suggested. Its usually not too hard, but some devices are more difficult then others.

Spend a good amount to time making sure you have the right thread, that is rooting your exact device and its exact Android level.

Or just buy an iPad next time. They don't come with all the bloatware.
