19Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
You Christians have some crazy ways of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ! :hairraiser
Straight white male living a life of privilege and proud of it.
"The greatest pleasure is to vanquish your enemies and chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth and see those dear to them bathed in tears, to ride their horses and clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters."
Some of those people were not being very considerate.
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."
Some of those people were not being very considerate.
That calls for a GIF!

So many of them obviously worship wealth. Billionaires are the anointed Saints of our state religion. Politicians, the Bishops. CEOs, the Priests.
Gobble gobble up those products for a happy holiday season! Every good American has to pile those monetary sacrifices high at the altar of the blinking tree or the gods of the market will be very angry! :grin
Holidays suck! Commercialism has ruined the holidays for me. The only joy I get
out of the holidays anymore is watching my 4 Grandson's open their gifts on Christmas. They are 7-2 yrs old
and they all still believe in Santa for now.... Other than that, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just
days off with pay. Yeah I'm a Scrooge and I know it.
So sue me.

I used to attend a Church where the Pastor's favorite saying was "The size of your miracle depends
on the size of your tithe check"
If you want to see that in action, try getting married in the Catholic church when one of the couple isn't Catholic. I found out God forgave me for not being Catholic as long as I stroked a fat check. Always wondered if I should have waited for Black Friday to see if God had a sale on forgiveness.

The idiocy going on in the stores around this nation both yesterday and today has NOTHING to do with the meaning of the Christmas season.
I ventured out to lowes and home depot today and was met by a very friendly crowd. People were being very courteous. Hell I even discussed tools with several customers and employes.
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.
in our capitalist society everything is commercialized ...
remember when Taco Bell announced it was going to buy the Liberty Bell and rename it the Taco Bell Liberty Bell ...
many folk believed it, even though it was an April Fools joke, because it is not unusual to sell naming rights

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

It seems to be inner city connected.
There, I said it.
