Well ive been outside about 5 times checking my boat and doing mental checklist..gonna be a sleepless couple of hours..serouisly thinking about heading out when the kid goes bed cuz I'm not gonna sleep anyways.

The coots were very wary....and 2 of the 14 spinner decoys were not working....and I couldn't find my Duck commander instructional video so the call was not working no matter how hard I blew into it!

Great fun with my son and five year old grandson...easy afternoon hunt at STA 1 W.....a little short of limits but I try to get out before the mosquitoes erupt.....lots of newbies.....and the walk in line was over 125 in the am...

I guess storm water treatment area birds are not real birds because they don't get shot at every day and are actually willing to work a spread some of the time. And yes I know what hunting other places are like so don't think I'm a sta rat. I hunt the lake a few times a year as well as other WMA's that are non quota access. My point is a completely legal duck hunt is a real hunt no bait no roost shooting. And I for one love running the boat out and scouting and setting up nice spreads and watching for birds been doing it since I was 7 so almost 20 years worth but why would I spend $200 alone in fuel then food and everything else to drive 2 hours away when I can spend $50 in fuel and drive 30 minutes. My pockets are pretty shallow so I do what works for me and is cost affective. Not to mention most of us work 5-6 days a week and don't have the days off or the funds to take off and be a real duck hunter as you would call it. End of rant!!!

Dont get me wrong I love The STAs Also, is just so diferent and easy
