So we decided to raise some meat rabbits. Picked up 2 does and a buck yesterday. Here is my set up so far. I still need to put in feeders and the auto water system. That and the manure management system.
Survival is not mandatory.....

Rich I'll use a rabbit wringer to dispatch them. As far as skinning goes it's not much different that squirrels.
Is it cost effective? Do you regularly consume rabbit?

what are you going to do with the hides?
You must not know how to cook.
All of the rabbits are gone now...
how will you handle owls?
I don't think they will beable to get into the cage.
Even the pet wabbits made the plate.

Rabbits are very good eating. Are they food for you or are u selling?
Primarily just food for us. However I do have some friends that have said they want to buy some.
Rabbits are good. Especially cooked down in gravy.
I had a friend here in town that got his daughters rabbits for Easter one year. They built a pen and kept them outside under the barn.
One afternoon one of his daughters went out to feed the rabbits and there was a rattlesnake laying under the pen. The rabbit smell had apparently attracted the rattlesnake. Pay attention to whats around the rabbit pens.

We are mating one of the does now and we will do the other next week. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure that once we get the the hang of things we'll have a few to share with friends.
Can't see snakes or they will try to kill themselves
wind on their whiskers will make them have seizures. We used to get people bringing us a bunch of "easter bunnies" in the early summer when they put fans on them to cool them and they freaked out.
The poop + old wood shavings makes good worm dirt.
