Bait-Terra Ceia

Red-ManRed-Man Senior MemberBartow, FlPosts: 331 Deckhand
Does anybody know where I could catch some bait around terra ceia on the flats? I fish out of a 16ft jon boat so running out to the skyway might be a little sketchy. I know I could probably post up on some grass, chum, and catch pins but would like some greenies too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Launch out of Ft Desoto park.
Head toward the gulf and go about 800 yards.
On the south side of the channel is a marker, #4.
Get in 3-5 feet of water over nice grass. Chum.
    I was there last week.
    3 throws. Plenty!
    They ranged from 2-6"
    Good luck!

Thanks for the info CK. If I'm ever around that area I'll definitely give it a try. Terra Ceia bay is a long haul from Ft. Desoto though. I was looking for something a little closer. I can launch my jon boat right off of hwy 19 just north of palmetto. That puts me on the east end of terra ceia and not far from miguel bay and manatee River

Thanks sumotime. That's all I needed to hear. I won't be able to make it out this weekend, got to do some stuff around the house and finish working on my livewell but I'll get after them next weekend. Thanks again

Yeah that marker is where everyone gets the bait. Just look for the gathering of boats by a green marker and do it up. Usually I dont even chum

as said before #9 if you fish the river the boat Caroline west of 59th ramp on the north side always holds good bait
