Bimini crossing 10/4 or 10/5

sbericksonsberickson Posts: 5 Greenhorn
Trailering down from NC for our 4th trip to the Bahamas. Plans are still somewhat flexible. We are looking for a buddy boat to cross either the afternoon of Friday Oct. 4th or the morning of Sat. Oct. 5th to Bimini...weather permitting. Launching at Harbor Towne Marina and leaving out of Port Everglades for Bimini. Staying in Bimini for a night or two and then crossing the Banks to Andros and then some various island hopping. Returning to Port Everglades Oct 12th-15th from Bimini, another buddy boat would be appreciated. Buddy boats please reply!

Thanks,
Capt. Scott

Approaching our dates...any one else considering a crossing?

Any local thoughts on the crossing weather either of those two days now that the forecast is coming into sight?

What do you consider your best local weather sights for crossing weather and Bahamas weather?

    Thanks for any input.

you will have a significantly more accurate forecast for friday's weather on wednesday night or thursday morning. 48 hours out is when the forecast becomes somewhat reliable.

right now it looks fine for crossing.

    Friday
East winds 9 to 14 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.
    Friday Night
East winds 7 to 12 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers.
    Saturday
East winds 7 to 12 knots. Seas around 2 feet. Intracoastal waters a light chop. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.
