I always thought a bunch of stilt homes out in the water and along the shore would have been cool for some families from Bimini to own..

Hard Rock has plenty of gamblin' and hookers.. :)

darn sorry if I offended anyone.. nice to see the people speak for their land.. conch.. fish.. reefs..

Oh, and Bimini used to have hookers, or hooker (singular), so I am told.....

I've know Hank since i was chitting green...my dad and him go way back. Terrible what is happening over there. But like others have said before, i'm surprised it took this long for greed to ruin bimini, seeing its so close to big money miami

We lack good teachers and people with character now days it seems.. if we could teach people that what we already have is amazing maybe they would take care of it.. they should put up time lapse cameras on the island for a couple months just to show the garbage and how BB deals with their sewage system.. do they pump it underground? in the ocean? in the bay? what are they doing with the garbage? our teachers taught us that you still can not put 10 lbs of coffee in a 3lb container.. responsibility to the area should be on the minds of the people who live there and the people who build..

Looking at the map it looks like they are going to build the pier right off the beach. That's unbelievable, right through and over the reefs.

  • Bimini is literally crapped on by the Bahamian government. Anything those Malaysians want, they can afford to buy. Politicians, land, buildings, heck they can buy the entire island and run all the Biminites off if they want.

not sure what the purpose of the video is? to document and publicize the opposition to the project by biminities?

not sure the people in power are ever going to watch that video.

i hope the coalition and others are directing the opposition to the administrators and politicians who are going to approve/disapprove the proposed developments. bimini needs money and jobs and there are other ways (other than this project) to develop the island in a responsible manner in order to provide resources and jobs.

Last time I was in Bimini Sherry was saying how its her turn to eat steak. We shouldnt be trying to stop the Terminal because it will bring her much needed money to buy her steak.

By the tone in this video, she didnt get her steak.

    Told her so..

I believe the only Bahamians "eating steak" are a few top officials in Nassau courtesy of RAV and Genting Malaysia. It sad but it happens all over the world. $$$$$$$$ talks.

The purpose of this video is to raise awareness... Its called speaking out against something. Protesting if you will. If enough Bimini people rise up and start speaking out SOMETHING WILL CHANGE...Will you stop questioning every effort on this forum to stop the development?

You want to know the power ONE SINGLE VIDEO can have on the Internet? Ask the people involved in Benghazi......

i hate to tell you that the benghzai video you speak of, which i have not seen, did not stop the assassination of a US ambassador and his staff.

in any event, my point is that awareness in this political setting is, in my opinion, appears to be meaningless. do you think that politicians in Nassau are going to listen to us that are against this development and destruction as represented in the video? that was my point.

the bahamas as we know them have always been corrupt just like any other country. the top people skim off payoffs, take what they want and make the people jump hoops. if you have a plan to do anything it must be met with $ to grease the wheels! when we used the boat to bring stuff like roofing and plywood over after hurricane Andrew the head customs guy met us at the dock and took 4 sheets and 2 rolls of felt off the back deck right after we docked. just like he owned the whole load. I was young and it was hard to bite my tongue.. now that my sister has had her house in the bahamas now for 9 years i see how they treat people a lot more and even when it comes to the schools they don't give a **** about the kids teachers are: "52 week workers" .. so basically someone can teach the kids math and how to speak better than "Where she is?" .. sad when the kids go without and big companies now days do not give any $ to football, soccer, baseball or softball teams there were some awesome basketball players that came from harbor Island also but the bahamas looks at wealth as 'who skims more'.. who is 'politically connected' this in turn has "we are parking a big party boat right offshore of your home and we will charge them accordingly.. same stuff here we have an airport that will soon be over my house and a big pile of sand that will be a airport ramp so we can carry more bahamas cruise / casino boats.. same thing everywhere the people in charge sell out the people.. and now our government is shutting down the basic needs and wasting $ and we say nothing even when it is your neighbor.. sad days we live in .. take paradise and put up a parking lot.. funny how americans 'used' to have a voice also..

Maybe I should have been detailed in my story for those that don't know the details. The video facilitated the assassination of the US Ambassador and his staff. The video was making fun of Muslims which in turn pissed them off to the point of attacking our embassy.

One video pissed off millions of people to the point of them taking action.

One video can make a hell of a difference. Not sure if this one will, but there is certainly a point to continue making these types of videos and raising awareness.

I apologize Alacrity, my first comment wasn't really directed towards you. It was directed at everyone who questions anyone's efforts to stop this mess.

On the upside I'm going diving next weekend in Bimini and plan on visiting 3 sisters and the other dive sites on that video just to record some memories.

We will be there as well and also plan on visiting Three Sisters again and taking many photos along the way.

apology accepted. im against all of this development and destruction but if it really meant a lot to me to try to stop it, then i would be doing other things. i see a lof of these efforts as fruitless because it seems the developer and the government are going to do whatever they want to do. many big projects in the bahamas have been planned like this and have failed. i hope this one does also, but, on the other hand, i would like to see other development/measures taken to ensure that the people of bimini have an opportunity to live just a little better and with more resources.
