I'm not sure where the rumor started (I do have a couple ideas) but I'll squash it right here. It is not postponed, cancelled or in any way affected by me not chartering. The Smackdown is on as planned, bigger and better than ever. No, at this time, I am not available for charter. Yes the event is on full swing. Yes I am still directing it. Yes we added liberal boundaries. Yes we put back in place a start time but made it an hour and a half earlier than last year. Yes we are still accepting sponsors. Yes we need your help spreading the word and yes, we need your help picking a Playboy Playmate to help me pass out our mountain of prizes...
Dates are Captains Meeting: Nov 21, Fishing : Nov 22-23, Awards: Nov 23 after fishing... Discounted rooms are in place and already filling fast. Base prize purse is $10,000 based on 20 boats. Entry is $1250 per boat. Boats staying at BGC will be eligible for $300 voucher from out island board (redeemed at check out).

About the tourney, please help me to understand why you would want to have anything at all to do with Bimini at this point. Your first two posts on this thread indicate that there is still something very much amiss on the island.
Although you have left it unsaid, it is quite obvious that BBGC and the entire island turned their backs on you when the chips were down, then crapped all over you for good measure. We all continue love Bimini for what it was, but jeeze you have to draw the line somewhere.
How about moving the tourney to either West End, Lucaya or better yet, GHC where the tourney would be welcomed with open arms and appreciated?
Let Bimini wallow in its own greed, avarice and political squalor and move on to less stormy shores.
Corporate sent me a couple notes regarding sponsors and how they want to proceed. Basically the same as it was but a pile more paper work for me along with earlier deadlines.
At this time we have plenty of room for product sponsors. Looking for top mate and top junior prizes to add. I think we still have the awards dinner sponsor spot still open. Possibly 2nd night as well. Bag stuffers are always welcome. Like last two events we will have a huge media blitz before and after. Sponsors over $300 in product or cash get their logos advertised and shown in some where around 20 publications maybe a little more. I think media exposure reaches about 1.4 million viewers.
The club is beginning to fill up. I wouldn't wait too long to sign up if its the club you want to stay at. If you are looking to jump on a team or have a team to fill let me know in PM so I can get you guys together...
We had a nice spurt of entries and verbal commitments made by others to be there over the last few days gives this the feel that it will indeed be epic... Still open to ideas to make it even better. Don't hold back!

Also got word that the first few wahoo have made their way to the cleaning tables there... No mention of size or big numbers but at least a start.
1st, 2nd, 3rd team overall will be top shelf along with merchandise and $5000, $1500, $1000
Then a mountain of plastic and glass to go along with it all...
The question is... Do we continue with the Playmate theme or maybe go with a film or tv star?
that's quite a caca-grin you have paul.
Next six boats that sign up get extra goodies in their bags and when i say goodies i MEAN good stuff!

I'll be on the road a lot the next couple weeks picking up sponsored stuff and getting it to that side... Keep em coming gang!
Folks, its ok, I'm a people... I'm here to answer questions and it is not a bother to address any questions or comments. Being director, thats part of my job. There is no "dumb" question when you don't know the answer. Ask away. I have most bases covered on this thing and can point you in the right direction. Sometimes not,and thats why i like steady stream of comments and or questions. If I get one I get stuck on, that helps me and others out by pushing me to get the answer...
Ps... If you are either "in" or on the fence... Let me know so I can make sure we have enough goodies to cover you and your crew.
Our good buddy Ben did a quickie. This pic was a couple hours after clearing customs... Looks like they were trolling sabikis for the one fish...
Alex on Makin it Happen picked off a couple, a dolphin then spanked the queen snappers..
Our shirts just got locked in and are off getting printed...
I received a zillion messages about the shirts last night. I doubt that we will have much left over from the first run as teams get them first and first shot at buying extras. Possible we will do a second run but i don't own the rights to do that myself. i will keep you guys in the know...

Welcome Bost Lures to the sponsors list...
Mangement let me know that the left sleeve our shirt is available if any current sponsor wants to up their sponsorship to platinum level ($2000) or if a new one would like to get on for the same deal...
Looking like we may well hit 30-35 boats!
Caught a little flack about boundaries and start time being put back in but my hands are tied. No win situation for a tourney director. Mike and I had a pile of people come to us after last tourney (about 2/3 of them). I guess they talked amongst them selves and approached us in mass. "Great tourney but if you don't put boundaries and reasonable start time in, we won't be back. RBDF and USCG asked us to reign it in so they could have a search grid and some sense of what radar signatures are our guys and what aren't. As far as I know we have only one boat holding out cause of it. His loss not ours...
Bottom line is this thing is growing nice...
