solar panel to charge the trolling motor

i have a kayak with a trolling motor on it a 55lbs i want to know if anyone knows about putting a solar panel on the kayak to charge the battery and give me more range does it really work

The best solar panels put out about 18 watts per square foot and 1 horsepower is 756 watts so unless your whole kayak is a solar panel you won't gain very much and it's defenitly not worth the hassle or expense.
