Home East Central General Fishing & The Outdoors

One fish, two fish, Redfish, Bluefish.

Today was one of those days, that you remember for a long, long, time, and that makes up for all the slow days, the skunk days, and the ****ty weather. Today was actually my wifes idea. As soon as I got home yesterday, she says lets go fish tomorrow early. Well she got what she wanted, we got up at 5:15, and headed to the beach. Got there and started walking, it wasn't long till we started seeing bait getting busted just off the beach.

Some casts lead to this.

Which lead to this.

I got in on the fun to with some small Jacks, and then the Blues came out to play. I lost count of how many Blue fish we caught today. But it was a ton. We also went through about three bags of soft plastics since they had a tendency to short strike.

Then it got interesting, two casts, two fish, two stoked anglers.

I'm not too proud to show some emotion.

As soon as that one swam off, I made another cast with my wifes rod to get it out to a spot that I saw, and FISH ON! I handed her rod back, and she was on her own.

We finished the day with a bunch more Blues, and some of these. I don't know what they are, but they are aggressive, and have small mouths. Some sort of snapper?

There was mullet everywhere, as well as some much smaller baitfish that was just off the beach from time to time, lots of big blow ups out a few hundred yards, and one BIG shark in the surf going after mullet, made me glad that we stayed dry today.
