Vermillion chewed late in the day. Capt Ralph caught a 5' trumpet fish on a live spot grunt.
I fished Friday night as well, limited out on tails & a 5lb grover.

Its a bluespotted cornetfish. Have caught them up here in NC too. Always on small live bait. A Koren friend told me they are $$$ in asian culture.

Yup, a cornet fish, which is much rarer down here than a trumpet. Really cool!

What's the preferred method for the vermillions? Those last photos are huge - looks awesome

Multi hook chicken rigs with squid. You can drift or anchor. This boat anchors in 300+. We put 60 fish in the boat in about 30 min last night.
