What's the team count so far? Gonna try and come by and see the weigh in. Got a charter that day, then hustling up to the Big bend that night to catch me a red snapper Sunday morning. BTW, Hope Fishing Adventures will donate two associate Florida Guides Association memberships and T-shirts to the winning team. Anybody feeling confident and wanna just give me your sizes now?:champs

Man I wish I had the secret item yesterday. 30 " red 35" snook could have found a trout to make the three. So I think I'm jinxed for the tourney!!! Oh well it will be fun anyway. I'm just hopeful the weather co-operates for all of us.
hello to all, im new to this stuff so was wondering if this tournament is out of port of the isles? and was wondering if a coed team was aloud.
We are working out some of the finer details of the logistics at this point. The rules are basically going to stay the same as last year. In the rules when I hopefully am able to post them next week, they will state that fishing can happen anywhere in ENP and 10,000 Islands with the only requirements being:
1) first and foremost, that every must follow the rules of the Park and the State of Florida (critical)
2) lines in at 7am,
3) must be at post fishing awards location by a certain time on Saturday the 5th which will be in EC,
4) that at least one member of the team needs to be at the captains meeting on the evening of Friday October 4th.
Just a few other rules as we try to limit them to the have to's to reduce issues....which in 12 years of doing these, we have had very few instances of issues arising.
There are no limitations on the location of where each team departs from the morning of. If a team is late, that is not anyone elses fault. As far as coed.....we promote the ladies and kids to partake in the event and do what we can to highlight their involvement.
Once again, we hope to have the rules posted here shortly to get everyone familiar with them. The rules of this event basically follow the same ones of the other event.....www.fftseries.com if you want to get a look. Some of the main differences with this event are no tarpon, 3 anglers allowed and currently it is half the cost to get some skin in the game right now. Once I post the rules which will be completely reviewed on October 4th, it will make more sense.
Gents I was talking to Capt Brandon who runs Everglades City Bait and tackle about the tourney. He said to give them a call and preorder bait or stop by and get what you need the day of, they have tackle, live shrimp, frozen bait, bagged ice and I hate to tell this secret, live crabs. Make sure to tell them you are with the Florida sportsman crew. 239-695-0202. Good folks running a good business

I liked the "We don't need no bait" comment, and was going respond with they also have a good selection of arties for you folks that don't like "Gods all natural" bait brand. I have to use live bait as I need all the help I can get. :Bike

is this place on the corner in the same building as the supermarket or is it down the street ( buckner) more? and what side of the road. ( it will be dark when i pull in)
Yes sir, its in the same building as the grocery store. Entrance is on the same side as well just the north corner that is right by the big parking area out front. I usually just go around the traffic circle (or possibly make a hard left as I enter the traffic circle)then pull right in the parking lot. Plenty of room for lots of trucks and trailers. If your there at o dark thirty that day, I'll see you there.
