These were shot last Friday (7/19) from a distance of about 1.5 miles. 70-300 VR. The cloud base was really low at launch, so the rocket was gone from view in less than 10 s.
we were at the Jetties and other than the fact that you can see the Lighthouse from there its too far for the little missles...and dangggg that thing got into the clouds fast...
Is the place you were open to the public or do you have a pass?.....if its open to the public I'd sure appreciate the location......
the good thing about the jetties was the surfer babes right on the rocks......they didn't get into the clouds nearly so fast......
Unfortunately, where I shot from is not public accessible. I have a little spot on the west bank of the Banana just to the southwest of the Atlas pad that offers a great view. No surfer babes there, just mosquitoes.
Onewolf,
Thanks! It is indeed a difficult lighting situation.
