Mexico Beach Camera Drop

Decided to bring the Go Pro's along on our trip to Mexico Beach. It's been awhile since we did a camera drop on one of our fishing holes and it's always a hit with the boys.

Dropped a three camera pod down but as luck would have it one camera did not record. Worked fine when tested in the office but who knows?

The cameras stayed down about ten minutes. This place is loaded with quality snapper. The snapper filled the water column all the way to the boat in 110'. We did not have any trouble catching our limit.

The visibility at the bottom is not very good but you should not have any trouble making out the fish.

Is that a regular gopro or do you have to upgrade to get one that is submersible to those depths?

That is too coool. Do you have a pic of your setup. I will be getting one. Also, I have the same question as Duckinfish about the Hero model.

The cameras are Hero2 recorded at 1080p 30fps, wide fov.

No upgrade on the housing just exceeded the maximum depth.

We have used those cameras down to a little over 120' with no issues.

However I would not recommend anyone exceed the 90' max depth for the Hero2.

I built the stand for the cameras. Unfortunately do not have any pictures of the stand.

That is a fascinating video, definitely no shortage of fish and one definite poser (you always get one that has to stare at the camera).:)

I saw Snapper, Triggerfish (nice to know they are still around), some kings on the way down, and what looked to be a black drum?, some jacks swam by too it seemed.
