6/21 Hammerhead and 6/28 Big Kings

First of all sorry for the late report. We went out aboard the Blackjack on 6/21 for an afternoon of live bait fishing. We went out of Port Everglades at around 3pm and setup our first drift and 200ft, about 1 mile north of PE. At about 150 feet, we see a hammerhead on the surface attacking on of our pilchards on a spin fisher 8500 with 50lb. powerpro. We hook the hammerhead WITHOUT WIRE on a 50lb. rig with a circle hook. After about an hour and a half long fight, we release it with no problem, and it swam away healthy. Here are some pictures I took during the fight, and while it was boatside.

6/28 Big Kingfish
We left Port Everglades Inlet around 11a.m., and bought some goggle eyes and pilchards. We setup up our first drift about 2 miles north or PE. We put up the kites with piclahrds and set 1 freelined goggle and 1 deep pilchard. The first gog we put in the water gets chopped in half with a stinger rig. The second drift we put out the same spread, and the goggle eye gets hit and we connect to a nice sized kingfish. After about a 10 minute fight we gaff it in bring it in the box. The Kingfish weighed in at 28lbs. We also had a big blackfin bite that didn't connect.
