LWI 6/30/13 (Slow but managed a sail, lost a SMOKER, 13 Summertimes, and snappa's)

Had my maiden voyage on 56' Ocean Yacht this AM.
Cleared PGA Bridge about 6:30 and cleared inlet about 7.

Ran South to Breakers and found Blue Water and SMOKING North current (3.5-3.8 knots with S/SW winds about 12-15)

Put the kite up and a a live thread on deep bait. 15 minutes goes by, no bites?
Deep rod starts SCREAMING and it is a 30++ King. Get him up top back of boat and Ruh Roh, fish changes direction, goes under boat, cuts line on running gear. :banghead

Reset in 120' off Dodge wall and had a STUD 4' cuda jump 10' in the air and inhale a bait off kite.
I said something like "at least we are getting bites" and crew just gave back a blank stare. :grin
(IE I thought E$ slays em every day... LOL :grin)

Next up a free jumper sail behind right long kite. We position boat directly in his path and he eats! :hail
Yeah one release for the good guys!

Reset, now off lost Tree in 130' on decent color change (brown bunky water meets Cobalt blue)
Single and Double header bonita on kite 4 x in a row. :banghead but again "at least we are getting bites right"... :angel
Can you say Strip baits and deep drop sword baits?? LOL :grin

I suggesgted we mix it up and do some snapper fishing.
Worked from Stacks to LWI in 75-85 and caught some NICE Yellowtails, grunts and yes even a slippery. :hail
Decided to call it and make 12:00 bridge.

Clean up was a piece of cake and thank you Bob, Robert and Mrs B!!
