Bottom fishing 6/29/13

Got to Phil foster at 6 with hopes of running offshore for a sword and some dolphin. Came out the inlet to mixed seas and relized my trim tabs are not working. And on my goldline if you don't have trim tabs it's a miserable ride. Called it a quits for offshore. Went to the bouys and chummed up some speedos and runners. Hit the edge and bumped trolled some big baits to jupiter current was ripping!! Not a single knockdown. Decided to change the gameplan agian to bottom fishing. Witch is all I normaly do. Set up in jupiter to find cold water. Had to move around from spot to spot ended up all the way off loran tower. Finally found the perfect current warm water and big fish. By this time it was 2:30 stayed till 3:30 enough time to catch dinner then made the long wet ride back to palm beach in the storm!

Ended up with 8 muttons all over 10lbs 2 being right at 17lbs

Nice haul!! I was at bath tub beach when that storm started to roll in. Looked nasty. Glad you made it in safe.

Nice Muttons!! I know what you mean about the trim tabs, I have a 23' C-Hawk and its the same way! I just put biggest person on the boat towards the bow and hope that helps or hopefully fill the fish box! lol

Yes. I've never masterd the drift. Always ancor away from reefs out in the sand. If you catch a yellow tail while mutton fishing your to close.
