Opening day for scallops

We got out today even with the bad weather. The crowds were not as bad as I expected. It could have been a whole lot worse. Got to the scallop grounds a little after 9:30 and had a boat limit before noon. They are not as big as they were last season but still plentiful and in the same spots as years past. Jellyfish were not a problem today. Only saw a few. Water was a little cloudy due to the rain but not too bad. There was still a few folks out there running on plane in the middle of the crowds so be careful if you go out.

way to rough it out Mario. Nice to hear low jellyfish count, and scallops in good numbers. Thanks for the report, hopefully I can make it out in august sometime.

Cool. Sometimes the shell is small but they have large meats.
This the case or are the muscles small also ?

They looked to be normal size but i didnt clean any. It was a guided trip and they wanted to take them home to clean them.

Sure can't complain about that! Nice payday, no cleaning anything, and some happy customers doesn't get much better.
