6/29 SLI

Will post a short report as not to much action today.

Broke the Inlet to seas that were a little rougher then called for so decided not to get beat up and just chugged over to the Sandpile for a bit. Little later the seas started to lay down so pushed onward and outward. Trolled for a while and only had two big bonita. Heard on the radio they there catching some fins on a weedline in 240 so picked up and ran and set up a drift. Had some sails in the area but no takers. Started to head in and look for anything fishy, ended up back at the Sandpile and hooked up with a nice fish that broke the leader after 10 minute fight. Saw another boat hook up with a nice cobia but got free real close to the boat. Called it a day and decided to head in.

Was a great day on the water till someone decided to start name calling in the pocket. I would rather be waked by Last Mango then hear the words this guy used on the water:rotflmao

Thanks for the report, decided to stay in this weekend as I wrecked my back two weeks ago at work and I'm just getting back to normal(almost) again! Good luck if you decide to head out again.

I would not chance unit as it was bumpy in the morning and tomorrow looks like it will be the same. Plus the fishing was not that great as the radio was pretty quite.

    Thanks for the report.
Rather quiet day for me as well.
Just a bonito shallow, then Capt Dave saved my afternoon by pointing out a floating chum box with schoolies under it. All the dolphin you could ask for providing you like them 19.5 inches to the fork!:banghead
After releasing a couple I finally got a keeper size. Still close so I figured the hell with it and let it live to grow.
At least got some blood on the deck. Thanks again Dave.
There was some nut case offshore name calling as well. Probably the same guy.
    Ehhh. Must be the moon.
Still a great day to be on the water.

I heard you guys on the radio. I think the nasty water is not helping fishing. Still great day on the water.

We had zero bottom bite in 65-75ft yesterday in Jupiter, poor water clarity, green-brown, etc... Hit a weed line @ 220 and caught some marginal fins, but my friends kids totally loved it, marginal or not...

At least you got out Steven. Nice seeing you on my test ride on Pedros Bluewater. Eric and I went to look at the Edgewater up north, but it didn't pan out, so I am thinking of Pete's boat now. He was nice enough to let me take the helm after his day of fishing to get a feel for it. Holy crap the ride was smooth even in the sloppy seas.

    Dave,
I don't think you will escape the waking for some time :rotflmao :grin:cool:
