Before I lived here full time, I used to fish the Pirate's Cove Sailfish Classic every December.... I was coming down from Cocoa Beach on a friends Cabo 40 Express, we cleared the inlet, and there's that one piling with a sign on it, (not sure if it's still there) and he somehow thought that it was one of the channel markers... I said to him to turn to port, he didn't, I yelled to him, TURN TO PORT NOW! He came out of his daze and turned to port just in the nick of time... All of us said we felt the starboard prop graze the edge of the sandbar...

All of this at 31kts, crazy....

That was a hell of a test ride.
The owner wanted to take me out and "show ya whut it does"
I told him there is little play room outside the markers "Yeah I know"

He did offer to drop a couple thousand off the price

PS-thanks for throwing us a line

From one of the pics it looked like the motors were messed up, did he bend them or is it just the camera angle?

A neighbor of mine did the same thing last summer (probably the same area).
Coming around the corner at the mouth of the pocket. Missed the last mark... boom. High and dry. I was a couple hundred yards behind him. I tried to pull him off but to no avail.
    Seatow got it done.
His son was just back from college and they were talking football.
Great captain and a smart guy, but IT HAPPENS!

Iirc over the last few years they have added a few more channel bouys in the area. Around there you do not have much margin of error if you drift out a little you will be high and dry.

I did that on purpose to replace some thru hulls without hauling it out. I didn't count on the time change shift and west wind delaying the tide change 2hrs
