Michelins are where it's at. I got 110k out of my Michelin LTX m/s set on my Thundra. Attempted to go with a "better looking" tire, Bridgestones, and they were loud, crap, and lasted half the distance. I went back to the Michelins and have 20k on them and they look brand new.

My Michelins started to blow out with lots of tread left :-(

now the Goodrich also Michelins are separating after only 3 years :-(

This. Those guys are whack! They may be selling a last years model or something but no way the big boys are risking their reps selling inferior tires just to do business at Sam's. I put a new set of Goodyear Assurance on the Accord Coupe EX-L Friday. $635 with road hazard lifetime rotation taxes out the door from Sam's . No place in town could come close.

This "club tire" stuff is nonsense proliferated by the competition who can't compete and instead use this weak fear tactic to make people believe the tires are somehow different.

Noettica, do you have a photo of your tire and the separation? I have a different size and model BFG tire that I think is about to shed the tread. I'm just curious to see what you have noted.

In my case I have 275/55R20 BFG Touring T/A or something close to that name. Mine looks like a razor cut right on the edge of the tread contact patch that runs for about 15 inches or so. Heading to the tire shop for a determination today. I've got about 40k on the tires and by the looks of it they would last another 30k or so except for this one.

That is why you pay for Michelin's. So you don't have to worry about the warranty.

Unless I'm seeing it wrong, it appears to be a wear groove on the inner sidewall. Those come from driving on an under-inflated tire. Good luck getting that covered under warranty...

Interesting assessment but I am a TOTAL CHEAPSKATE ! I always run a FULL 80 pounds of air before running the truck ...

The truck NEVER goes over 65 mph

The payload is EXACTLY 1500 pounds

the original Bridgestones NEVER had this problem ...

Again, I could be reading it wrong.

Whenever there is a wrinkle in the sidewall, the polyester sidewall belts have been compromised. When a tire is driven while under inflated the rim pushes down on the inner sidewall. It leaves a telltale groove very similar to the one the divides the diagonal ribs on right side of the tire in your picture. The sidewall overheats, begins to wrinkle and then it disintegrates.

I'm making this guess based on the picture alone and you really need to have someone at the tire store where you bought them make the call, not the forum faithful. Good luck, I hope it works out in your favor.

Bad splice, tire builder made a bad splice or out of spec sidewall rubber that got past quality control.

The photo is of the inside of the tire the Tread is on the other side of the bubble

and ... there were NO little rubber balls inside the tire ...Totally clean ...

The tires are covered ... but the clowns are only paying out 35% I weighed the truck only 5000 pounds on the rear wheels way under the weight limit
and NEVER under inflated I actually run 85 pounds ... did not want to disclose that until I got the replacement product ...

and for general info 10% over inflation is very acceptable ...
