DISCLAIMER: SORRY GUYS BUT I DROPPED THE "F" BOMB TWICE.. YOU WILL SEE WHY!!!
Well, today it was going to be just Pete (Swordawet) and myself.
We left Sandsprit at 0700am and exiting the inlet, we headed Southeast a bit and in 30' of water, we hit Greenies galore. Each cast brought up 5 to 6 fish. Just to make sure, we stopped by Bullshark on the way out and got a few more.. total 4 dozen in 20 minutes. :thumbsup
We headed Southeast bound and the seas were BEAUTIFUL!!! Flat Calm. :hail
In 65', we came upon a very well formed weedline with large patches of weed. We deployed 2 livey's just to see if anyone was home and in the meantime, of course, I got hungry.. so ... out came the chicken wings. :hungry
Just as I was ready to indulge, my rod goes off like a freight train. It turns out to be a large bonito and as it swam back and forth, it was really starting to zig zag. As I turned my head to the left, I spot a huge Hammerhead swim directly under the boat. :hairraiser:hairraiser
This guy was smelling the blood from the bonito and started to chase him down.. thus the zig zag.
The bonito finally tries to get away by wrapping himself around the lower unit and boy.. was that a mistake which you will see on the video. Pay close attention to the shark grabbing the bonito and you can see the head sticking out of one side and the tail out of the other.
Ok Pat... I really felt like Jeremy Wade.. but does he crap his pants like I did when something surprises him??? :rotflmao:rotflmao
Afterwards, we went to 250' and nada ... so we trolled towards shallower water. In 150', we hook up to a small dolphin.. 26". :shrug
Nothing more here.
We head shallower and found a nice rip, slick and weed so we deployed the baits again.. and again, a shark hits but much much smaller. He bites the hook off just below the boat.
Later, in 85', we pick up another dolphin.
We had another huge bonito hit and seeing that I need strip baits and deep drop bait, I wanted to make sure that I didn't ruin the meat so check out the gaff job.

grin
We had a few more cutoffs and we decided to head back in.
A great time, with a great buddy!!!!!
Good food, good fishing and good times.
Life is good!
Cheers

Our trips are booooooooooooring..............................
I am guessing if you hooked another pelican he would not have been getting rescued by Pete.
Was impressed with the fruit on the boat, that is the first time I have seen you with something nutritious on the water.
Yep, was thinking I might be seeing a host of import beers instead of fruit. Impressive Sir.
Looked like lake Atlantic out there, good fun!
Agree, hammerheads dig wings and hot nuts!
Dinner and a show, nice job

Thanks my friend!!! How's Team Hookin and Bookin doing???? Haven't seen a report lately. :shrug
Dream Reality,
Thanks buddy.. I know that sometimes the videos are goofy but hey.. we are a bunch of goof balls!!
Dave,
hahaha I'm glad you enjoyed it.. the cuisine isn't "Hickson fare" but it is darn good that's for sure. That's cool that the kids enjoyed the video. It's also funny that they wondered why they didn't see a Hammerhead up close and personal. Hey, I called you right back today but got your voicemail. Give me a shout later on.
Bart,
It's good to hear from you my friend. Thanks for the kudos... we had a good time.
Steven,
Was it that many curse words???? We are slipping!!!! Hey, you are the one trying to kill me with fried chicken, macaroni and cheese with bacon drippings and the such! :nono
Jeff,
It was a stellar site.. and I agree.. Pete is a wimp.. if it were me, I would have dove in and removed the hook but hey.. someone had to control the rod and reel!!
What Knot (sorry, but I don't know your name ... YET!)
That's pretty funny.. but hey.. the fruit was a good start.. right???? :willynilly
Mike,

Travis,
Thanks pal... did you see that we caught a phin on the dredge?? I'm gonna start using the one I got from you more often!
Bo Man,
If Pete were a real man, he would have saved that poor Bonito!!! I mean, they look a lot more docile than a pelican don't they???? As far as the call.. I'm sorry buddy but Pete already had a full boat with the family from Jupiter.. that we took out last week .. they canceled on the morning of... so it was too late to call.. You know we love you.. well.. not you as much as the wings... JK
Scott,
Love it.. Team Grubbin... that's funny :rotflmao... and true!!! Are you back on this side again??
RocknReeler,
WOW.. that had to be a sight to see... did your hammerhead go into the frenzy mode with the spastic movements and quick swimming??
Tom,
Thanks buddy.. I thought about pulling a PAUL and jumping in with the shark.. but then.. I regained my senses!!!
Arnie,
It is a pain but WELL WORTH IT... as you and Jim will soon find out! :thumbsup
Garbo,
Thanks very much.
