Are there any regular bait spots for live pin fish, cigar minnows ect for offshore that you all could help with? first time
over and I'm trying to plan. Thanks in advance!
I cast netted some pins on the grass flats. Just drifted with my net ready until I could see the flashes of their sides. Needed a bigger net but a few casts got me a dozen of them fairly easy. Maybe a sabiki would work too, or even catch them with a small hook under a float with the bait of your choice.
I have found that anchoring in 6ft of water on grass flats and putting out a chum bag works very well. The pins can be caught down courrent with small hooks and cut squid. After 15 minutes, a throw with a cast net will be productive.
