Anyone able to give me some info on where I could try and get some linesider action in crystal river. Always wanted to catch one but haven't been able to seal the deal. PM me if need be. Thanks for info
Snook are ambush feeders. They will be near or sometimes in moving water, hiding behind a rock, in a depression and often in Sargasm. In the river, if you see trees by the water, there are rocks there, guaranteed. There are a lot of Snook in the river but they are mostly small ones, except in the winter. The bigger ones are near similar features all over the flats.. .really. Generally not on flats or grassy areas preferred by trout.
Forgot to remind you to use 30# leader. They have very rough gill plate and wear through leader during battle. if you catch a large snook on anything less...you were lucky. Put max pressure on them as they will run for any rock or similiar obstruction.
