I am looking to connect with a couple Father Son or Daughter fishing teams to share expenses for offshore trips out of Hernando Beach. I am not a guide so no guarantees beyond clean language and we will get you home;) My son is 13 and loves to fish, we run a 26' ProKat out of Hernando Beach that can fish a maximum of 6 people. We would just be looking to cover gas and oil which runs about $225 to run to the Army Tanks and back. We can go deeper obviously the cost follows it runs about $110 for gas and oil for every 10 miles deeper we go.
If you are interested please PM me if you have questions please just post them for everyone.

I know my old offshore boat was a 24 footer with a single 200 fuel eater merc and she ate fuel up. but no where near $110. for every 20 miles (10 miles X 2).
So I'm just womdering what motors are on your 26 footer?
If you're "splitting costs," Capt Ed may not be too far off that 5 1/2 gallons a mile!
Twin Yamaha 150's running them at about 3500 RPM's. All math was round trip so yes 20 miles out and back which would burn ~20 gallons of fuel at $5/gallon plus an estimated $10 in oil.
I am certainly not trying to make money....

Well while I didn't appreciate being inaccurately flamed by bad math it did cause me to rapidly start researching. My motors were 1 mile per gallon but your 6 miles per gallon listed here was so much better. After further research I found two other sources that claim 4 miles/gallon on the same 26' Cat that I have using the Zuki 140's.
So after some case pleading with the wife the boat was dropped yesterday morning for a re-power.
If I can cut my fuel costs anything better than in half I will be thrilled!!!
So after cussing you for making it seem like I was trying to profit when I wasn't even trying to cover my costs I have to say "Thank-you for bringing these motors to my attention" I assume you are pushing a smaller lighter hull so my mileage will still not match yours but like I said I look forward to no oil and less than half the fuel costs.
Cant beat'em, join'em.
Everybody gets offended so easy...
I don't think I am, perhaps in this case I was for whatever reason...Definitely not something I have ever been accused of before:)
Nice days and tight lines!!!
No, please don't get offended. I ment no harm or bad intent. I had a 200 fuel sucker 2 stroke on another boat and also had a 140 zuki on my guide boat. Whenever I used the offshore fuel sucker it just blew my mind the way it drank the gas compared to the 140.
Origionally my guide boat had a 150 2 stroke, when I bought the zuki, my fuel mileage almost trippled. So where I was burning 20 gallons running 20 miles, now it only burned 8.
So I got rid of the fuel sucker and built a (yes lighter and smaller) offshore boat and put another 140 zuki on that.
YOUR GONNA LOVE YOUR NEW SUZUKIS.. is all I can say :-)
At old fuel prices it was a trade off but not at what they ask at the pump today.
