Sling bags for DSLR and 70-300mm

RStyleRStyle Posts: 1,732 Captain
Wondering if anyone owns a sling bag where you can carry your DSLR with the
70-300 mm mounted.

Only one I have looked at is the Passport Sling 11 made by Lowepro. Nice bag and easy to carry
You could carry both camera and lens, but the lens could not be mounted on the camera. (maybe sideways?)

Some bags you could carry camera with smaller lens mounted and the 70-300 separate. Defeats the purpose
if you are photographing wildlife and have to be switching lenses.

Looking for a comfortable bag for hiking and taking basics but including the long lens

a friend of mine has a canon back pack that holds his 5d and a 100-400mm tele locked ont the body.....
it also holds some othe items like a short lens.....

of course no self-respecting nikon owner would like to carry his camera in a bag with CANON on the back....lol....

I've got a POS case logic bag from Wally World. It is a top load arrrangement and I can stuff my D7K with 70-300VR in as long as I don't have the sunshade on it. It is snug though.

Right now I have my 18-105 on the body and my 300 F4, 60 F2 Tamron, teleconverter and sunshades plus my SB-700 in the bag. It's full.

EDIT: Mine's a conventional top load backpack so commentary doesn't apply.
