Well I've been in a big snook slump for a few weeks now :grin These gale force winds haven't helped, but today I had a trip with Tom(snookobo) and we got in the water around 5:30. The first hour or so was pretty uneventful, I got one baby snook, but nothing more. We get to an open area and I hook up! I immediately said "big fish", but that was an understatement. The fish launches out of the water and shows its true size. That was the only time it broke the surface. The next five minutes was, scream 30 yards of drag, gain 5 yards back. Finally after tiring it down, Tom bear hugs it! We snap some good pictures of it. The fish never got in the docks which was very fortunate. Measured my rod when I got home and it was a hair over 40 inches, but my biggest ever. Tom caught a nice little snook and had a few more busts, but no hook ups. Great start to my summer! All fish were caught on the Unfair Lures Rip N Slash!
