Residential tarpon Ft. Pierce area?

Anybody got a clue where they are at? I want to take my father out for father's day (he isn't the greatest fisherman) to locate some of the smaller (15-20 lbs.) resident tarpon (he recently showed some interest in catching larger fish other than bass and I figured it would be a good father's day present). We would be fishing out of a canoe so we cant really fish the turning basin or anything like that. Thoughts?

Try Little Mud Creek just north of the Power Plant. There are usually tarpon hanging in the cut there around the ramp.
