Broke thru the inlet about 6:30. Ran out to 80FT. and got down to business. Trolled along the reef looking for a kingfish for some smoked fish dip. After 20 minutes or so flat line goes off and our rookie jr. angler puts a 12lb king in the box. Trolled the reef a little longer with out any action so we turn and head east. get to 130ft. and shotgun goes off. Again this day was to hook up the newbie and he made quick work of a schoolie dolphin. Keep trolling east and in 150ft. port rigger pops and newbie is hooked up an a 10lb cow and it made its way into the box. Back to business and out to 160ft. downrigger goes off. After a short fight a 12lb bull is on ice and invited to dinner. Troll out to 200ft and nothing, nada, zilch so back to 160ft we go. Worked the 150 -160 area the rest of the day and picked up 3 more schoolie dolphin and 1 cuda. About 3:30 we decided to call it a day and headed back to the dock. We had a good time and got 1 more teen angler hooked on offshore fishin. He can't wait to go on his next trip.
Totals for the day:
1 cuda
1 12lb king
4 schoolie dolphin
1 10lb cow
1 12 bull

Glad your getting the newbies into fishing. It's wonderful to see there eyes light up when that rod goes off.
What did those fish?
Was there any color preference during the day?
